About this role
Maintenance technician for nuclear reactor installations operated by Westinghouse. You will perform specialized reactor vessel operations (opening/closing, televised inspections, thread maintenance), equipment installation and repair at client nuclear sites and the hot service center in Nivelles, Belgium. Work includes decontamination, material conditioning, and shipment preparation in controlled radioactive zones under strict radiation protection protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform reactor vessel tasks including opening/closing, televised inspections, and maintenance of vessel threads
- Install, operate, maintain, and repair equipment at client nuclear sites and service center
- Execute work in controlled zones under general supervision, maintaining high quality standards and strict compliance with qualified procedures
- Provide technical support including equipment maintenance, decontamination, material conditioning/unconditioning, and shipment preparation at hot service center
- Verify integrity of controlled elements (IPS equipment work) and draft/revise operating and maintenance procedures
- Track all work actions, quality events, and safety/radiation protection compliance
- Participate in performance-based training to maintain certifications and stay current on procedures and technologies
- Serve as technical controller on specific work phases and mentor team members on competencies
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite at client nuclear sites (primarily France) and Westinghouse service center in Nivelles, Belgium. Work performed in controlled radioactive zones requiring active radiation protection compliance and French CNPE access authorization.
