About this role
Technical Lead for electrical systems on TerraPower's Natrium advanced reactor project. Lead design, procurement, and integration of electrical systems between TerraPower's Nuclear Island Systems team (Bellevue, WA) and EPC contractor (Reston, VA). Provide technical oversight, manage cross-functional handoffs, ensure schedule adherence, and support NRC licensing activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical systems design activities: specify technical inputs/outputs, assign personnel, oversee procurement specs, requirements documents, system design descriptions, FMEA, calculations, and single-line diagrams
- Identify and resolve engineering changes and optimization opportunities; manage closure plans
- Review electrical design work products for accuracy, procedural adherence, and mentor junior staff
- Manage technical handoffs between electrical systems and other organizations; facilitate communication and coordinate interface information
- Provide technical direction to partners, subcontractors, and suppliers; review supplier submittals for accuracy and requirements compliance
- Coordinate with procurement to manage scope and ensure on-time delivery
- Support NRC licensing: develop Operating License Application content and respond to Requests for Additional Information
- Champion safety and quality; identify and resolve challenges to personnel, nuclear, and radiological safety
- Own Integrated Master Control Schedule activities and manage execution; update reporting and resolve conflicts
- Act as Technical Representative for contractor and staff augmentation; assign tasks and manage work activities
