About this role
Supervise WECTEC mechanical craft at nuclear facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of work in high-radiation and confined spaces. Direct reports to General Superintendent; manage daily coordination across multiple work areas with responsibility for safety compliance, incident investigation, and crew performance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily coordination and support for WECTEC mechanical employees; ensure work performed safely, effectively, and cost-efficiently per WECTEC and client policies
- Monitor adherence to safety, error prevention, quality, schedule, and productivity standards; participate in supervisory observation program
- Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports, other supervisors, and craft personnel
- Manage safety incident reporting and investigation for Level 2 and Level 3 incidents; complete documentation and Corrective Action Program reports; communicate injuries to Safety Manager/Director
- Accompany injured employees to Occupational Health Site; assist with information collection and post-accident safety meetings
- Deliver daily pre-job briefings; attend pre-job briefs for critical activities and document attendance
- Participate in High Rad Briefs; ensure crew signatures on RWPs and three-way communication with RP Technician; maintain positive control of crew for first entry into high-radiation areas
- Conduct walk downs, constructability reviews, and manpower estimates during work planning; identify barriers and pursue productivity improvements
- Conduct periodic field tours (85% of time) performing inspections and observations of all work locations including confined spaces, high-radiation areas, and fabrication facilities
