Sr Manager, Construction Management
About this role
Entergy seeks a Senior Manager of Construction Management to lead a high-performing construction team overseeing the company's transmission and distribution system resilience program. This role requires a strategic leader trusted by contract partners to optimize capital portfolio execution while maintaining safety as the top priority and developing construction professionals. You will manage large, complex capital projects with responsibility for cost control, schedule adherence, safety integration, and contractor performance across utility infrastructure delivery.
Responsibilities
- —Serve as visible leader in capital portfolio execution, ensuring alignment with company strategic objectives and delivering projects within cost, schedule, and scope parameters
- —Develop and implement construction management frameworks, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and consistency across the portfolio
- —Lead team in developing comprehensive construction plans including work sequence, outages, and resource requirements; identify optimal outage windows to minimize customer impacts
- —Communicate and enforce safety standards across all construction activities including site practice oversight, contractor performance monitoring, and leading indicators integration
- —Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals; develop organizational technical knowledge and create a leadership pipeline for succession planning
- —Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and work with Supply Chain to ensure procurement and administration of construction agreements meet project expectations
- —Monitor contractor performance across safety, schedule, cost, quality of work, and contractual compliance; track construction costs to drive competitiveness
- —Establish, track, and report KPIs to measure portfolio execution; participate in lessons-learned reviews and process optimization initiatives
- —Interface with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; ensure internal and external compliance with regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols
- —Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders including project management, engineering, supply chain, and construction partners
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or 4+ years equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- —Minimum 8 years in utility industry or equivalent relevant experience in capital project management
- —Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- —Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively in matrixed environments
- —Solid understanding of construction fundamentals, stage-gate processes, and large portfolio delivery with cost, schedule, and scope certainty
- —Expert knowledge of project and construction management with documented legacy of strategic leadership and successful capital project delivery
Desired
- —Advanced Degree (MBA, Masters in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management)
- —At least 5 years of transmission construction experience
- —2 or more years of power generation plant major project experience
