Shift Support Supervisor In Training (SSSIT) - Plant Farley

Shift Support Supervisor in Training (SSSIT) role at Plant Farley, a two-unit PWR facility. You will complete NRC-mandated reactor operations fundamentals and systems qualification training, culminating in NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) licensure. Upon licensing, you will direct operating shift personnel and coordinate nuclear plant system operations on rotating 12-hour shifts.

Perform Operations staff functions and plant familiarization to prepare for NRC Initial License Class

Complete plant-provided systems and fundamentals training covering reactor operation, heat transfer, fluid flow, thermodynamics, and plant-specific procedures

Stand watch on rotating 12-hour shifts as a Shift Support Supervisor following NRC SRO licensure

Direct operating shift personnel in performance of plant duties and coordinate operation of nuclear power plant systems

Maintain qualification as a member of the plant Fire Brigade and Emergency Response Organization

Participate in continuous training with periodic examinations and maintain respirator qualification

One of the following: (1) 1+ years as active reactor operator at a PWR facility; (2) 1.5+ years as active reactor operator at a comparable commercial power reactor facility; (3) 2+ years in military reactor position equivalent (Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Reactor Operator, Engineering Officer of the Watch, or Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor); or (4) Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 18–36 months relevant experience

Demonstrated leadership experience at supervisor level or above

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Solid analytical thinking and strong mechanical aptitude

High school diploma or equivalent

High degree of manual dexterity and mature judgment

Pass initial screening and annual medical requirements

Pass U.S. Nuclear Power Plant Unescorted Access clearance including extensive background investigation

Pass Fitness-for-Duty Program requirements

No positive drug or alcohol test, drug use/possession, felony conviction, or recent misdemeanor convictions within past five years

Plant Farley, Columbia, AL. Rotating 12-hour shifts on-site. Fire Brigade and Emergency Response Organization on-call responsibilities required.
