Senior Procurement Technical Specialist
About this role
Senior Procurement Technical Specialist at Westinghouse supporting Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. Procure nuclear-qualified materials, components, and services while ensuring ASME, environmental qualification (EQ), and 10 CFR 50 compliance. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions in a high-demand operating reactor environment.
Responsibilities
- —Perform technical procurement activities: create material masters, develop purchase requisitions, support bill of materials (BOM) updates
- —Conduct technical evaluations including item equivalency assessments, engineering reviews, and supplier qualification
- —Use SAP and enterprise systems to implement and manage procurement activities
- —Interpret engineering specifications, including ASME standards, environmental qualification (EQ) requirements, and nuclear quality standards
- —Ensure all procurement meets nuclear quality requirements and regulatory compliance
- —Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to develop technically compliant, cost-effective solutions
- —Support supplier engagement and procurement execution in a high-demand operating plant environment
Qualifications
- —3–5 years of experience in nuclear power industry
- —Background in supply chain, procurement engineering, or technical procurement support
- —Associate's degree minimum in a technical discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience
- —Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- —Knowledge of ASME standards, environmental qualification (EQ), and nuclear quality requirements
- —Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Desired
- —Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- —Hands-on experience with nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs)
- —Familiarity with Diablo Canyon Power Plant systems and local procurement procedures
- —Proficiency in SAP (engineering, work control, and supply chain modules)
- —Experience performing technical procurement reviews and supplier quality assessments
