Senior Procurement Technical Specialist at Westinghouse supporting Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. Procure nuclear-qualified materials, components, and services while ensuring ASME, environmental qualification (EQ), and 10 CFR 50 compliance. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions in a high-demand operating reactor environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical procurement activities: create material masters, develop purchase requisitions, support bill of materials (BOM) updates
- Conduct technical evaluations including item equivalency assessments, engineering reviews, and supplier qualification
- Use SAP and enterprise systems to implement and manage procurement activities
- Interpret engineering specifications, including ASME standards, environmental qualification (EQ) requirements, and nuclear quality standards
- Ensure all procurement meets nuclear quality requirements and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to develop technically compliant, cost-effective solutions
- Support supplier engagement and procurement execution in a high-demand operating plant environment
Preferred qualifications
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- Hands-on experience with nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs)
- Familiarity with Diablo Canyon Power Plant systems and local procurement procedures
- Proficiency in SAP (engineering, work control, and supply chain modules)
- Experience performing technical procurement reviews and supplier quality assessments
