Required qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 5–7 years of nuclear or power generation engineering experience; Proficiency in ANSYS for FEA; Working knowledge of ASME codes and nuclear pressure boundary design; Demonstrated experience in scope, schedule, and budget development and monitoring; Proficiency with CAD programs (Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar); Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
About this role
Senior Mechanical Components Design and Analysis Engineer supporting the operating nuclear fleet at Westinghouse. Design and analyze major nuclear components including steam generators and pressurizers. Lead engineering for component upgrades, repairs, and modifications while ensuring compliance with NRC and ASME standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate installation, fabrication, testing, and qualification of new repairs or replacements for nuclear components
- Assess and qualify pressure boundary components and internals to address degradation or deviations in operating conditions
- Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS or similar software
- Develop solutions for complex problems, including emergent customer outage issues
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal groups, customers, and regulators
- Provide headquarters or customer site support during scheduled maintenance and inspection outages
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements (ASME codes, NRC standards)
- Provide technical scope descriptions and cost estimates for customer offers

Hybrid role based in Madison, PA; includes on-site support during scheduled maintenance and inspection outages.
