About this role

TerraPower seeks a Senior Fuel Fabrication Engineer to lead development of metallic fuel fabrication processes for sodium-cooled fast reactors in the Natrium program. You'll drive process development, manage supplier relationships, and provide technical troubleshooting within an interdisciplinary engineering team advancing advanced nuclear reactor fuel technology.

Responsibilities

—Perform laboratory-based fuel research and development activities to support the Natrium reactor program
—Develop, execute, document, and communicate work plans for engineers; report on fabrication development status
—Apply quantitative and statistical techniques to assess experimental outcomes and support data-driven conclusions using Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies
—Design, fabricate, and operate custom laboratory experiments
—Safely handle radiological material in accordance with company processes and Washington state law

Qualifications

—Greater than 5 years of experience plus a B.S. degree, or an advanced degree with equivalent experience
—Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or related technical discipline
—Hands-on laboratory experience
—Ability to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems
—High degree of trust and integrity with strong communication and teamwork skills
