About this role
Senior Fitter role at Westinghouse's Monfalcone, Italy facility, responsible for positioning, aligning, fabricating, and assembling metal components and structures for nuclear reactor fabrication. You'll work in a highly regulated environment preparing components for welding and assembling critical nuclear components within the Clean Condition Room (CCR), ensuring compliance with nuclear quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- —Position, align, and assemble metal components (shells, top and bottom heads, nozzles) using hand tools and equipment according to drawings and layout specifications
- —Verify conformity of assembled and prepared parts against drawings and technical requirements using appropriate measuring instruments
- —Read and interpret technical documentation (drawings, assembly sequences, WPS) to assemble fabricated structures and prepare joints for welding
- —Handle and position manufactured parts manually or using lifting equipment such as hoists and overhead cranes
- —Perform shaping, cutting, chamfering, grinding, drilling, and bending activities required for component assembly
- —Assemble components in the Clean Condition Room (CCR) when applicable
- —Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards related to safety, quality, risk, and security
Qualifications
Diploma from a professional school or technical high school; minimum 5 years of experience as a Fitter; Italian and/or English fluency
Location
100% onsite in Monfalcone, Italy; full-time individual contributor position
