Senior-level electrical engineer supporting Plant Reliability Engineering at Duke Energy nuclear sites. Provide technical expertise in electrical components, DC systems, and cable aging management. Lead complex problem-solving, lifecycle management planning, and technical guidance for electrical and instrumentation systems at operating nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering/technical expertise in identification, analysis, and resolution of complex electrical and DC systems problems at nuclear facilities
- Perform lifecycle management planning and evaluation for electrical component and cable aging management
- Conduct engineering studies with full technical responsibility for planning and coordinating complex projects
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and documentation with analysis and process enhancement recommendations
- Manage projects, disseminate technical knowledge, and develop organizational standards
- Stay current with new developments, technologies, and equipment in nuclear electrical engineering
Preferred qualifications
- Prior electrical component or aging management experience in nuclear environment
- Experience at operational nuclear power facility
- Skilled in project management principles and engineering design evaluation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid (remote and onsite at Duke Energy nuclear sites or Corporate Office); 5–15% travel required; reliable transportation for facility commute; onsite plant visits expected
