About this role

Lead the design and deployment of electrical systems for Oklo's first-of-a-kind advanced nuclear fuel recycling facility, owning the full lifecycle from concept through commissioning. You'll drive facility power distribution, electrical infrastructure, and integration with process control systems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

—Lead design and implementation of facility electrical systems from concept through commissioning
—Design and specify high-, medium-, and low-voltage power distribution systems
—Define system architecture, including redundancy, backup power, and safety strategies
—Perform and review power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, coordination)
—Generate and review electrical documentation (single-line diagrams, load lists, specifications, cable schedules)
—Lead integration with control systems (PLC/DCS/HMI)
—Develop grounding, bonding, and lightning protection strategies
—Support procurement, installation, and commissioning activities
—Collaborate on facility layout, constructability, and maintainability
—Generate technical documentation supporting regulatory and licensing efforts
—Serve as the electrical technical lead across lifecycle stages

Qualifications

—Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
—10+ years of experience designing and deploying industrial or facility-scale electrical systems
—Demonstrated ownership of electrical system design through multiple project phases (concept through commissioning)

Desired

—Experience in nuclear, fuel cycle, or similarly regulated industrial environments
—Deep experience in power systems design (switchgear, transformers, protection systems)
—Expertise in power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, coordination studies)
—Experience integrating electrical and controls systems (PLC/DCS/HMI)
—Commissioning and startup experience in complex facilities
