Senior Communications Specialist
About this role
Senior Communications Specialist supporting internal and external communications at Entergy's nuclear facility in Port Gibson, MS. This role requires nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, or plant operations background and combines office-based strategy work with hands-on coordination at the facility, including emergency response communications and outage management.
Responsibilities
- —Implement plant-focused internal communications strategy to improve engagement across cross-functional teams, employees, and stakeholders
- —Serve as day-to-day communications coordinator: edit internal site publications, employee news, and develop leadership messaging and newsletters
- —Lead outage communications and post-outage updates, including internal messaging and external press releases/social media
- —Serve in plant's emergency response organization, ensuring effective communications during drills, exercises, and actual events
- —Manage external communications including media interactions, stakeholder outreach, and logistics for special plant events
- —Support and enforce graphic standards and brand guidelines for major plant initiatives; manage communications campaigns including public relations and marketing
- —Facilitate site communications team composed of volunteer employees; coordinate with site leadership and fleet communications
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- —Minimum 5 years of communications experience
- —Strong writing skills with ability to communicate complex information clearly
- —Proficiency in AP style
- —Ability to balance conceptual communications strategy with hands-on, on-site execution
Desired
- —Experience in a nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, or plant facility environment
- —Familiarity with desktop publishing and graphic design tools
Location
Onsite in Port Gibson, MS; up to 25% travel; requires availability for after-hours support and weekend events; relocation assistance provided
