About this role
Westinghouse seeks a Field Service Technician to maintain, repair, test, and deploy specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment (milling systems, drilling equipment, EDM systems, bolting systems, remotely operated tools) used in nuclear power plant outages worldwide. This role involves hands-on work in demanding nuclear environments, collaboration with engineering teams across multiple countries, and support for advanced remote-controlled technologies.
Responsibilities
- —Perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on specialized equipment including milling systems, drilling equipment, EDM systems, bolting systems, and remotely operated tools; perform corrective maintenance to ensure operational reliability and quality compliance
- —Participate in commissioning, testing, and parameter development with Product and Development Engineers; validate troubleshooting and optimize performance
- —Manufacture, modify, and assemble mechanical and electrical components and associated tooling systems; verify equipment functionality prior to deployment
- —Install and configure software on computers, control units, and industrial systems; support network configuration and communication setup for equipment operation
- —Operate specialized equipment during nuclear power plant outages worldwide; ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements during field interventions
- —Provide field feedback to support product improvements and continuous improvement initiatives; contribute to lessons learned activities
Qualifications
Technical expertise in maintenance and repair of specialized mechanical and electromechanical equipment; proficiency in software installation and configuration on industrial systems; ability to work with remote-controlled equipment in nuclear environments; knowledge of quality standards and safety procedures in nuclear facility operations; ability to follow established procedures and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Location
Worldwide travel to nuclear power plant outage sites; field-based work in demanding nuclear environments
