About this role
Regulatory Engineer responsible for navigating NRC licensing frameworks for advanced fission technologies at Oklo. This role combines deep regulatory expertise with hands-on technical work, including preparation of licensing documentation (FSAR), regulatory research, design engineering support, and strategic licensing issue resolution for a fast-moving advanced reactor company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation (e.g., Final Safety Analysis Report)
- Perform regulatory research on NRC requirements, precedent, and guidance; develop approaches to addressing regulations
- Interface with technical engineering teams, reviewing technical material and providing regulatory feedback on design
- Support or manage internal and external regulatory interactions and lead resolution of key strategic licensing issues
- Perform design engineering work: document technical analysis using modern tools and develop technical reports
Preferred qualifications
Experience with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or Department of Energy (DOE) requirements; experience with research, test, or commercial nuclear reactors; familiarity with consensus-based nuclear and non-nuclear codes and standards.
Location, schedule, and travel
Remote with required travel to Santa Clara, CA headquarters twice per quarter for team meetings and company events.
