About this role

Oklo is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to support licensing and regulatory compliance for advanced fuel recycling and fabrication facilities. This role combines expertise in NRC and EPA regulatory frameworks with hands-on technical engineering work to advance modern fuel recycling technologies. You will research regulations, generate licensing documentation, interface with design teams, and prepare technical reports for regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Research, interpret, and apply NRC and EPA regulations and regulatory precedents to licensing activities
  • Generate, refine, and review licensing documentation and NRC license applications/amendments
  • Analyze regulatory documents, identify key compliance aspects, and support internal and external regulatory deliverables
  • Interface with technical staff to review engineering material and provide technical feedback to design teams
  • Contribute to and author technical reports for NRC submissions and external regulatory bodies
  • Document regulatory and technical work using modern tools and maintain clear records

Qualifications

  • Experience generating, contributing to, or evaluating NRC license applications or amendments
  • Technical background in engineering, physics, health physics, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for regulatory documentation

Desired

  • Experience with fuel fabrication or fuel cycle facilities (commercial or DOE)
  • Familiarity with advanced reactor or fuel recycling technologies
  • Experience with EPA regulations on fuel cycle facilities

Location

Remote with travel to Santa Clara, CA headquarters twice quarterly. In-person onboarding required for first two weeks.
