About this role
Oklo is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to support licensing and regulatory compliance for advanced fuel recycling and fabrication facilities. This role combines expertise in NRC and EPA regulatory frameworks with hands-on technical engineering work to advance modern fuel recycling technologies. You will research regulations, generate licensing documentation, interface with design teams, and prepare technical reports for regulatory submissions.
Responsibilities
- —Research, interpret, and apply NRC and EPA regulations and regulatory precedents to licensing activities
- —Generate, refine, and review licensing documentation and NRC license applications/amendments
- —Analyze regulatory documents, identify key compliance aspects, and support internal and external regulatory deliverables
- —Interface with technical staff to review engineering material and provide technical feedback to design teams
- —Contribute to and author technical reports for NRC submissions and external regulatory bodies
- —Document regulatory and technical work using modern tools and maintain clear records
Qualifications
- —Experience generating, contributing to, or evaluating NRC license applications or amendments
- —Technical background in engineering, physics, health physics, or related field
- —Strong written and verbal communication skills for regulatory documentation
Desired
- —Experience with fuel fabrication or fuel cycle facilities (commercial or DOE)
- —Familiarity with advanced reactor or fuel recycling technologies
- —Experience with EPA regulations on fuel cycle facilities
Location
Remote with travel to Santa Clara, CA headquarters twice quarterly. In-person onboarding required for first two weeks.
