Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field AND 10+ years of nuclear industry experience with project management, budget, and maintenance background; at least 7 years in direct project supervisor/management role. OR Associate degree AND 14+ years of nuclear industry experience; at least 7 years in direct project supervisor/management role. OR High school diploma/GED AND 18+ years of nuclear industry experience; at least 7 years in direct project supervisor/management role.
About this role
Lead the Reactor and Major Maintenance Department at Columbia Generating Station (BWR), managing refueling, turbine/generator, valve programs, drywell/wetwell, ISFSI, and auxiliary systems. Direct 8–650 personnel and oversee $25–60M annual budgets while maintaining nuclear safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage Reactor and Major Maintenance Department and all associated project budgets ($25–60M annually)
- Plan, schedule, and execute reactor maintenance projects including refueling, turbine/generator, valve programs, drywell/wetwell, ISFSI, transformer yard, heat exchangers, and pumps/motors
- Oversee operations of Refuel Floor, ISFSI, Drywell, Turbine, Turbine Generator, Condenser, Wetwell, Under Vessel, Transformer Yard, Cooling Tower, Circulating Water System, and Temporary Power facilities
- Manage acquisition and performance of 8 internal staff and up to 650 contractors; serve as primary contractor representative and guide contractual negotiations
- Develop project budgets, determine manpower and schedule requirements, and monitor expenditures
- Establish project priorities, perform personnel appraisals, ensure training qualifications are maintained, and oversee worker safety in Buildings 90, 96, 105, and 106
Preferred qualifications
Active or previous SRO license, SRO certification, or BWR Management Certification (candidate must complete next EN Management Cert class if not held). Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Project Management from accredited university. Minimum 15 years of power plant experience in nuclear industry.
