Programs Engineer- Any SNC Site
About this role
Programs Engineer supporting Southern Nuclear's fleet across multiple nuclear stations. Provide technical leadership in specialized programs including Inservice Inspection, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, License Renewal/Aging Management, Buried Piping and Tanks, FLEX, Reactor Internals, Welding, and Cable Monitoring. Ensure regulatory compliance and fleet-wide standardization across all SNC facilities.
Responsibilities
- —Provide technical leadership and guidance on assigned programs (Inservice Inspection, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, License Renewal/Aging Management, Buried Piping and Tanks, FLEX, Reactor Internals, Welding, Cable Monitoring)
- —Ensure code and regulatory compliance across the SNC fleet
- —Identify and apply industry best practices to program implementation
- —Develop, maintain, and standardize fleet procedures and processes
- —Participate in industry working groups and troubleshoot technical problems across plant sites and corporate office
- —Support refueling outages, Corporate Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties, and industry travel as assigned
- —Oversee multiple complex projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- —Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline from accredited college/university, or Professional Engineer license
- —Strong technical background in engineering with working knowledge of applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- —3+ years of application and experience with Inservice Inspection, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, License Renewal/Aging Management, Buried Piping and Tanks, FLEX, Reactor Internals, and/or Cable Monitoring Programs
- —Ability to maintain unescorted access to SNC facilities
- —Strong problem-solving and engineering decision-making ability
- —Effective communication and ability to work across diverse groups
Desired
- —Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Nuclear, Civil, or Chemical Engineering discipline
- —5+ years of application and experience with applicable programs
- —Proficiency in interpretation of system/component/isometric drawings
- —Nuclear power station site experience
- —Previous experience in systems engineering, programs engineering, or component engineering
Location
Any SNC site: Farley Nuclear Plant (Alabama), Hatch Nuclear Plant (Georgia), or Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (Georgia). Includes refueling outage support and industry travel. Must maintain unescorted facility access.
