About this role

The Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Engineer is responsible for conducting probabilistic risk analyses to support our fast reactor design development, licensing, deployment, and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Developing probabilistic risk analysis models of our fast reactor designs Working with our engineering analysis teams to analyze event sequences and compile risk insights Using PRA techniques to evaluate external hazards Working with our engineering design teams to incorporate risk insights into the design and improve system reliability Supporting licensing activities through generation of technical reports, technical analyses, and supporting documentation

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced training/education/experience in PRA Experience delivering products for regulatory review (DOE authorization, NRC licensing under 10 CFR Parts 50 or 52) Experience with PRA software (CAFTA, SAPHIRE, ADAPT, RAVEN, etc.) Experience with fast reactor design and analysis Experience with hazard analysis (FMEAs, Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS), What-if Analysis) Experience with transient or source term analysis Experience with human reliability analysis Experience in operations, maintenance, or engineering support of operating nuclear power plants Competencies We are looking for a PRA engineer that is: Passionate about clean energy Passionate about making advanced fission a reality Willing and able to learn quickly Eager to work on a dynamic team, receive constructive feedback, and grow with us Willing to think differently and do things in new ways Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment Excited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving, while not leaning only on what has been done before Willing to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems An excellent writer who can write in modern active voice, so make your cover letter compelling and write it well!

Location, schedule, and travel

Oklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings.
