Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Science, Construction Management, or related technical field, or equivalent non-degreed technical experience in industrial/field service environment. 5 years of project management experience OR 3 years of project management/supervisory experience plus 2+ years of technical field experience (field service, nuclear, power plant, NDE, oil/gas, construction). Experience leading field-based projects at nuclear plants during outages. Knowledge of Safety and Non-Safety Related Quality Programs, ASME codes, and NDE methods. Leadership experience with both union and non-union craft workforce (pipe fitters, boilermakers, machinists, welders).

About this role

Principal Field Project Manager for Westinghouse overseeing complex nuclear power plant outage projects including welding, machining, and large component replacements. Lead cross-functional teams through full project lifecycle from planning through closure, managing schedule, cost, and quality performance at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead welding, machining, and large component replacement projects during nuclear power plant outages
  • Oversee cost estimates, proposals, and customer negotiations for field service projects in the nuclear sector
  • Author project management plans, procedures, schedules, cost baselines, and financial reports per Enterprise Project Management Office standards
  • Direct project execution at customer sites ensuring safe, first-time quality deliveries with schedule and financial performance tracking
  • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-track projects
  • Manage internal and external communications with partners and cross-functional teams (Project Controls, Quality, Engineering)
  • Ensure project closure by archiving financial, scheduling, and document management records
  • Perform final project quality assessments and reports
  • Communicate best practices, lessons learned, and risk avoidance strategies for future projects

Preferred qualifications

6–10+ years of project management experience. Specific experience in Construction Management and large component replacements. Demonstrated hands-on field experience with union-represented workforce. Background in nuclear system piping repairs and automated welding.

Location, schedule, and travel

Remote position with travel to specified nuclear plant project locations.
