Principal Project Manager
About this role
Principal Project Manager overseeing moderate to high complexity nuclear fuel projects at Westinghouse. Lead medium-sized technical teams (5–20 members) managing all aspects of project execution—scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality—within Global Nuclear Fuel Engineering Operations. Report to Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- —Develop project scope, cost, and schedule baselines; prepare risk and partner registers
- —Author project charters and project execution plans
- —Lead medium-sized teams (5–20 members) including project controls and sub-project managers
- —Manage project execution against quality, schedule, and financial goals while following department protocols
- —Oversee scope, schedule, cost/revenue, risk, quality, resources, communications, and partner management aligned with project/contract requirements
- —Collaborate with resource and product managers to optimize schedule and resource utilization
- —Prepare and oversee project cost/revenue expenditures, forecasts, and progress evaluations
- —Support proposal process for moderate complexity projects as assigned
- —Maintain project process metrics and process maps; ensure team, customer, and partner communication
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years as Project Manager directing low to moderate complexity projects (or equivalent: 3 years technical/engineering + 3 years PM of technical engineering projects). Experience managing technical engineering projects in regulated industry. Understanding of PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge. PMI PMP® certification or commitment to obtain within reasonable timeframe.
