Nuclear Operations Instructor
About this role
Constellation seeks a Nuclear Operations Instructor to design, develop, and deliver performance-based training programs for Reactor Operators and Non-Licensed Operators at nuclear facilities. This role combines subject matter expertise in nuclear operations with instructional design and program evaluation to drive operational excellence across the fleet.
Responsibilities
- —Design, develop, implement, and evaluate plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs using Constellation's systematic approach to training model
- —Coordinate and conduct performance-based Reactor Operator (RO) and Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- —Maintain training program currency by incorporating INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, NRC Bulletins and Information Notices, Constellation Nuclear Event Reports, design changes, procedure revisions, and new regulations
- —Prepare trainee examinations and conduct evaluations in classroom, laboratory, on-the-job training, and simulator environments
- —Conduct counseling sessions with trainees, evaluate results, and develop individualized training programs as needed
- —Support clean energy center and fleet initiatives including business projects, refuel outage support, and emergency preparedness
- —Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits; prepare responses to audit findings
- —Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports documenting all training program activities
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and outage activities as directed by management
Qualifications
- —High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related power plant operator experience (test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military) OR Associate's degree in a technical discipline, education, or training with 4 years of related power plant operator experience OR Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, or mechanical) or nuclear engineering, or related science/education/training with 2 years of related power plant operator experience
- —Meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.5.4) Standard requirements for nuclear power plant personnel
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
- —Must achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of assuming the position

- —Current or previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO certification
