About this role
Westinghouse MOV Senior Tester supporting diagnostic testing, maintenance, and repair of motor-operated valves at nuclear facilities nationwide. This is a 4–6 week contract role requiring hands-on expertise in valve diagnostics, functional testing, and corrective/preventive maintenance. 100% travel with extended work hours (40–72 hrs/week); includes overtime, shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Perform functional and post-maintenance diagnostic testing, corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of motor-operated valves (MOVs) to prescribed design and vendor specifications
- Ensure MOV performance meets seating force, stroke length, and position control requirements; perform leak testing, valve adjustments, and alignment checks using appropriate gauges and tools
- Support field troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives; complete work orders with accurate documentation and daily field activity logs
- Comply with lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and radiological/human performance program requirements; use appropriate PPE (respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hard hats)
- Ensure safety of self and team while maintaining equipment integrity and adhering to customer Quality standards and procedural guidelines
Preferred qualifications
Vocational or technical training; EPRI MOV qualifications; U.S. Navy nuclear background or equivalent reactor maintenance/operations training; satisfactory performance rating from previous work.
Location, schedule, and travel
100% travel, 4–6 week short-term contract, 40–72 hours per week. Work in confined spaces, high-temperature areas, and elevated heights. Overtime, shifts, weekends, and holidays required.
