Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline; OR 4+ years of material handling, warehousing, inventory, logistics, or supply chain experience (Specialist II tier)
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of material purchasing, supplier contracting, or vendor management experience; OR 7+ years without degree in material purchasing, warehousing, inventory, or logistics (Specialist Sr tier)
- Proficiency with IBM Maximo, Command, and MS Toolkit applications
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve material issues with minimal guidance
- Strong communication skills for direct customer interface on materials management matters
- Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, picking, inventory control, and Distribution/Transmission information systems
- Sound, fact-based decision-making ability
About this role
Intermediate-level materials management role supporting Entergy's nuclear and utility supply chain operations. The Materials Management Specialist II/Sr manages inbound/outbound material requests, oversees warehouse operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and serves as Supply Chain Site Material Supply Lead during normal operations and nuclear emergency events.
Responsibilities
- Actively promote strong safety behaviors and create a safe work environment; monitor suppliers for safety concerns
- Perform storm role duties and serve in nuclear Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as assigned
- Serve as Supply Chain Site Material Supply Lead for Utility Operations during incidents and emergency response
- Analyze, edit, and schedule warehouse picking jobs; communicate material shortages to customers
- Provide customer interface for T&D storekeepers, managers, engineers, and operational staff
- Troubleshoot material issues in warehouse processes and resolve conflicts between warehouse and Purchasing & Inventory Management teams
- Monitor daily cycle counts and assist in management of EDC transportation and equipment utilization
- Coordinate material needs to field during storm events and emergency situations
- Deliver and document savings through inventory optimization, material transfer opportunities, and cost avoidance
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory requirements, document retention, and quality control standards
- Develop and maintain stakeholder and supplier/partner relationships based on ethical business practices
Preferred qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of energy industry supply chain experience
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite role; includes storm assignment duties and nuclear emergency response coordination responsibilities through the ERO
