Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Significant material handling experience
- Forklift certification and ability to maintain multiple forklift qualifications
- Ability to operate complex and critical equipment associated with material handler duties
- Valid State-issued Driver's License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly; heavy lifting required periodically
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures, and directives associated with nuclear power plant work
- Commitment to personal and industrial safety
- Ability to work independently or with minimal oversight
About this role
Material Handler supporting Westinghouse nuclear operations at a power plant in York, South Carolina. Manage distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies during reactor outages and on-line operations. Operate forklifts, rigging equipment, and other specialized material handling equipment in a safety-critical nuclear environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist distribution team with material, equipment, and supplies during outages and on-line operations
- Operate various forklift types, stand-and-reach equipment, motorized pallet jacks, and specialized moving equipment
- Operate complex and critical equipment associated with material handler duties
- Complete basic rigging tasks as required
- Maintain RWT (Reactor Worker Training) qualifications and all required nuclear facility training
- Support Westinghouse and Duke Energy programs, policies, procedures, and strategic goals
Preferred qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License
- Basic Computer Skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
