Required qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to obtain radiation protection program certification within 6 months of hire
- Ability to complete forklift training and operate forklift within 6 months of hire
- Ability to work in power plant environment including climbing and walking long distances
- Maintain minimum access requirements and pass favorable medical examination per position duties
About this role
Material handler role at Constellation's nuclear facility warehouse, managing receipt, storage, inventory, and shipping of laboratory materials and equipment. Responsibilities include handling radioactive packages and excepted shipments in compliance with DOT regulations, operating material handling equipment, and supporting lab operations across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and handle materials and equipment of varying sizes, shapes, and weights; package and prepare shipments
- Receive incoming materials, verify compliance with Purchase Orders, perform inspections per laboratory standards, and document in computer systems
- Store, count, and issue materials accurately to support laboratory needs across multiple departments
- Pull and pack equipment shipments per industry standards; prepare shipping paperwork and enter data into shipping database
- Operate equipment safely including hand trucks, packaging machines, and forklifts
- Perform customer pickup and delivery services using company delivery van within metro areas on established schedule
- Package, prepare, ship, and receive hazardous materials and excepted radioactive packages in compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain warehouse areas, restock consumables, and pull instrumentation from inventory
- Assist laboratory teams with completing scheduled assignments both in-lab and at external locations
Preferred qualifications
- OSHA-approved forklift certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools
- Working knowledge of manual and electric pallet jacks
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite at Constellation facility warehouse/logistics center; able to climb and walk long distances; customer pickup/delivery travel in metro areas
