Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing-related field or equivalent experience; 7+ years in manufacturing, fabrication, and production; nuclear and quality experience
About this role
Lead manufacturing operations at Westinghouse's Manning, SC facility, overseeing machinists, electricians, and technicians who produce tooling, parts, and assemblies for nuclear power plant outage projects. Drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while managing CNC/manual machining and assembly operations in a nuclear industry environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead team of machinists, electricians, and technicians in safe daily operation of CNC and manual machining and assembly activities
- Manage manufacturing schedules and planning tools to meet customer requirements and outage project deadlines
- Oversee team performance, productivity, and material/labor waste reduction; track performance metrics
- Plan and assign work, implement procedures, and recommend improvements to production methods and equipment
- Determine and implement training programs to ensure team proficiency and skill development
- Oversee budget, spending decisions, make-vs-buy analysis, and track material and labor costs
- Assess manufacturing capabilities and gaps; implement improvements and plan equipment maintenance/replacement
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements; foster Nuclear Safety Culture through Human Performance tools
- Evaluate employee skill levels using training matrices; initiate corrective action for production or equipment issues
- Curate selection of outside vendors for outsourced work and collaborate across production, inspection, and shipment functions

Onsite at Manning, SC; 5 days per week (Monday–Friday day shift); some shift work, weekend work, or off-hours support for special projects required
