Maintenance Engineer - Vogtle 1&2
About this role
Maintenance Engineer supporting Plant Vogtle Units 1 & 2 (two-unit pressurized water reactor facility) in Waynesboro, GA. You will implement and oversee maintenance programs, investigate equipment failures, coordinate with vendors and engineering teams, and provide technical direction to maintenance personnel across this large nuclear generation facility.
Responsibilities
- —Provide engineering support and technical direction for maintenance activities across the facility
- —Investigate and assist with resolution of emergent equipment issues and day-to-day operational problems
- —Coordinate with vendors and external partners to ensure proper product supply and service delivery
- —Act as project manager for assigned maintenance programs and capital projects
- —Support Corrective Action Program (CAP) closure and equipment problem resolution
- —Collaborate with System Engineering and off-site engineering to resolve design-related equipment issues
- —Monitor plant equipment condition and provide monitoring support to operations
- —Support Emergency Response Organization activities as needed
Qualifications
- —Minimum 2 years of related experience in industrial manufacturing, utility operations, or similar technical environment
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
- —Technical writing and documentation skills
- —Computer proficiency
- —Strong problem-solving and sound engineering decision-making ability
Desired
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- —5+ years of related experience in industrial manufacturing or utility operations
- —Knowledge of air-operated and motor-operated valves (AOVs/MOVs)
- —Knowledge of welding codes and ASME standards
- —Project oversight or supervisory experience
