About this role

Oklo is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to design, implement, and manage control systems for their advanced fuel recycling facility. You'll work across multi-disciplinary teams to develop PLC/SCADA systems, sensor integration, and operator interfaces that meet nuclear regulatory standards. This role is critical to commissioning a first-of-a-kind fuel recycling operation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement instrumentation and control systems for fuel recycling facility operations
  • Integrate design work across process, controls, equipment, and facility teams
  • Define system standards frameworks, design patterns for controls, and PLC/SCADA implementation
  • Develop electronic process sensor systems, digital controllers, and network topology
  • Prepare specifications and engineering calculations for instrumentation and controls equipment procurement
  • Design dashboards, human-machine interfaces, and operator workflows for complex facility systems
  • Conduct system testing, simulation, and commissioning to validate architecture and data accuracy
  • Develop systems meeting facility and regulatory requirements and generate technical documentation for regulatory filings

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leading or being a subject matter expert in process hazard analysis studies
  • Experience deploying or working on pilot plants through industrial facilities (both greenfield and brownfield)

Location, schedule, and travel

Remote with required travel to Santa Clara, CA headquarters twice quarterly; first two weeks of onboarding must be in-person at headquarters.
