Senior Supplier Performance Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company. Lead supplier oversight, quality assurance, and development for nuclear energy products. Manage cross-functional coordination between supply chain, engineering, and quality teams to ensure technical and quality compliance with nuclear regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- —Conduct on-site and remote supplier supervision activities to ensure compliance with Westinghouse technical and quality requirements
- —Develop and deploy supplier supervision plans to track critical deliverables: document reviews, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and tests
- —Coordinate activities across Westinghouse functions including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality
- —Identify and escalate significant supplier issues, risks, and quality events
- —Drive rapid problem resolution by coordinating actions, communicating with stakeholders, and implementing corrective actions
- —Monitor key supplier performance indicators and implement root cause analyses and improvement plans
- —Assess supply chain risks and develop risk mitigation plans
- —Manage internal and external corrective action requests (CAR), including root cause analysis and verification of preventive and corrective actions
- —Conduct technical evaluations of new and existing suppliers to assess manufacturing capabilities, process controls, regulatory compliance, and associated risks
- —Identify gaps between supplier capabilities and Westinghouse requirements and define development plans
- —Lead supplier development, qualification activities for new products, improvement initiatives, and cost reduction projects
- —Review and approve supplier process documents, capability analyses, measurement system analyses, and design-for-manufacturability contributions
- —Collaborate with design engineering to ensure clarity and integrity of engineering requirements and effective supplier communication
- —Support implementation of Value Analysis/Engineering, Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent; minimum 4 years of experience in engineering and/or industrial/manufacturing environments. Knowledge of manufacturing processes: precision machining (turning, milling), welding, forming, mechanical assembly, non-destructive testing (NDT), inspection and testing. Experience with process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification. Strong command of manufacturing and quality plans, Process FMEA (PFMEA). Experience managing multiple concurrent cross-functional projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint. Experience writing technical documents and standard operating procedures. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications conforming to ASME standards. Fluent English required. Effective communication with stakeholders from different disciplines and functions. Respectful negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities. Proactive approach to work and risk management. Location
