HVAC Mechanical Systems Engineer-Vogtle 3&4
About this role
HVAC Mechanical Systems Engineer at Vogtle 3&4 responsible for ensuring sustained long-term performance of HVAC systems (chillers, air handling units). Integrate reliability strategies into station operations, proactively identifying and resolving equipment issues through cross-functional collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams. Ensure compliance with Maintenance Rule (10 CFR 50.65) and SNC quality standards.
Responsibilities
- —Perform routine trending of system parameters and walkdowns to identify early signs of equipment degradation
- —Work cross-functionally with schedulers, operators, and maintenance to ensure system reliability work is performed at the right time with proper quality
- —Review and update existing maintenance strategies to account for industry best practices and lessons learned
- —Lead root cause evaluations and corrective action plans for equipment failures using causal analysis methodologies
- —Develop and present business proposals for long-term planning and life-cycle management of critical HVAC assets
- —Participate in industry benchmarking and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET accredited); Proficiency in work management software (Maximo); Familiarity with maintenance practices for mechanical components (chillers, air handling units); Knowledge of causal analysis methodologies (FMEA, RCA) and predictive technologies; Ability to solve problems and make sound engineering decisions based on experience and industry practices; Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
