Required qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience; specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, programmable logic controller (PLC), or mechanical components; 2+ years demonstrating satisfactory mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge and skill; ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds; full range of motion for extended periods; ability to pass Westinghouse physical including spirometer for respirator capability; ability to maintain security clearance and unescorted access at nuclear facilities.

Field Service Technician II supporting Westinghouse's nuclear fuel handling equipment and outage-critical crane operations at remote nuclear power plants and service centers worldwide. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized equipment while maintaining unescorted access status and adhering to nuclear safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, set up, and maintain fuel handling and outage-critical crane equipment at customer sites worldwide
  • Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail
  • Provide support to engineering and training through equipment modifications, setup, testing, mock-up preparation, and process qualifications
  • Document equipment performance issues during field implementation and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use
  • Perform assigned tasks with high quality and within parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines
  • Maintain 'Unescorted Access' status at nuclear power plant sites
  • Report field work progress, changes, problems, and mistakes to service supervisor on daily or as-needed basis

Preferred qualifications

Nuclear industry experience.

Location, schedule, and travel

Remote position across United States with 60–70% travel by airplane and automobile. Projects typically 2–4 weeks but may extend 2–3 months during spring and fall outage seasons. Work involves hazardous materials handling.
