About this role
Field Service Technician for Westinghouse supporting installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fuel handling equipment and outage-critical cranes at nuclear power plants nationwide. Responsible for equipment setup, testing, procedure compliance, and maintaining unescorted access at nuclear sites.
Responsibilities
- —Install, set up, and maintain fuel handling and outage-critical crane equipment at customer nuclear power plant sites worldwide
- —Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and engineering drawings in detail; provide engineering support through equipment modifications, testing, mock-up preparation, and qualifications
- —Document equipment performance issues during field implementation and verify corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use
- —Maintain unescorted access status at nuclear power plant sites and comply with all safety and quality procedures
- —Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications; stay current with technology and procedures
- —Report field work progress, changes, problems, and mistakes to service supervisor daily or as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience; specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, programmable logic controller (PLC), or mechanical components; 2+ years demonstrating mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge and skill; ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs and full range of motion for 4 hours per day; ability to pass Westinghouse physical including spirometer test for respirator wear; ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access and fitness for responsibility clearances.

Nuclear industry experience.
Location
Remote (anywhere in US) with extensive travel (60–70%) by airplane and automobile. Projects typically 2–4 weeks; 2–3 months during spring and fall outage seasons. Work involves hazardous materials.
