About this role

Engineering Supervisor for Extended Power Uprate (EPU) projects at Southern Nuclear's Plant Hatch. Lead design engineering team reporting to Fleet Central Design EPU Manager. Provide technical direction on design modifications, supervise engineering personnel, and ensure all plant design changes meet NRC requirements, quality standards, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and management of design products for Extended Power Uprate (EPU) projects
  • Supervise assigned engineering personnel including training, development, and performance management
  • Ensure plant design changes are high quality, technically adequate, and meet design basis requirements
  • Establish and maintain design interface controls between organizations performing engineering work
  • Conduct design review meetings with plant participation and technical challenge
  • Coordinate design input from corporate specialty areas (Stress, Fire Protection, Environmental Qualification)
  • Maintain current and accurate design basis documentation
  • Ensure design modifications comply with quality, schedule, and budgetary requirements
  • Manage financial performance to budget
  • Promote fleet common design processes and implementation
  • Occasional travel to other nuclear plants

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited university
  • 8+ years experience in nuclear power
  • Thorough understanding of nuclear plant processes and systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to hold self and others accountable to established policies and procedures
  • Strong management and teamwork skills
  • Permanent residency or ability to relocate within one hour of Plant Hatch

Desired

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) and/or PE license
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Previous design engineering experience

Location

Plant Hatch, Baxley, Georgia; must be within one-hour commuting distance; occasional travel to other Southern Nuclear plants.
