Engineering Technical Specialist II (QA/QC-Procurement Quality)
About this role
Engineering Technical Specialist II responsible for verifying technical and quality requirements to support acceptance of materials and services for nuclear plant operations. This role applies technical expertise, data analytics, and quality assurance principles to ensure vendor compliance with nuclear QA requirements, industry standards (EPRI NP-6629), and NRC regulations. Responsibilities include conducting vendor surveillances, performing inspections and testing, analyzing quality data, and driving process improvements.
Responsibilities
- —Perform technical and quality assurance duties in support of nuclear procurements per EPRI NP-6629 Guidelines
- —Conduct surveillances and inspections at vendor facilities to verify compliance with nuclear QA requirements and industry standards
- —Execute inspections, testing, and documentation reviews; analyze test results and operate test equipment to support item acceptance activities
- —Apply data analytics to performance and quality systems, including human performance metrics and material quality assessment
- —Support vendor program audits and identify process improvements through systems analysis and evaluation
- —Ensure modifications, operations, and maintenance comply with company policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- —Travel domestically and internationally as required for field duties
Qualifications
- —2+ years related experience with Bachelor's degree, OR 4+ years with Associate's degree, OR 6+ years with High School Diploma (Master's degree counts as one year toward experience requirement)
- —Understanding of power plant systems and design/operation of moderate to complex systems and equipment
- —Knowledge of industry codes, standards, government regulations, and company policies
- —Must complete training and obtain ASME NQA-1 Level II Quality Inspector certification
- —Ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive tasks
- —Working knowledge of personal computers and software programs
- —Strong technical writing skills
- —Ability to apply engineering theories and concepts with limited guidance
- —One of the following: 4-year Engineering Technology degree, 4-year Engineering degree (non-ABET), 4-year degree in Physics/Math/Chemistry/Biology/Computer Engineering, 4-year non-technical degree with post-graduate degree in Engineering Technology/Engineering, OR equivalent education and relevant experience

Location
Up to 25% domestic and international travel; office work 76–100%; potential exposure to confined spaces, cold, energized electrical equipment, fumes, heat, loud noise, operating machinery, outdoor conditions, and radiation (each up to 25%)
