Engineer, Reactor
About this role
Constellation is hiring Reactor Engineers at Entry, Mid-level, and Senior levels to perform advanced engineering problem-solving in direct support of nuclear plant operations. You'll own technical decisions within your functional discipline, apply detailed knowledge of nuclear codes (ASME, NRC regulations) and safety analyses, and drive continuous improvement across our clean energy fleet. This is a hands-on technical role requiring independent analysis, regulatory compliance expertise, and a pathway to Qualified Nuclear Engineering (QNE) certification.
Responsibilities
- —Assure all engineering analysis and recommendations comply with applicable safety analyses, industry codes (ASME, etc.), and NRC/regulatory requirements
- —Perform independent technical research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of reactor engineering projects
- —Recommend equipment upgrades, design improvements, and process changes to enhance performance, reduce costs, and maintain regulatory compliance
- —Develop and implement engineering processes and techniques at appropriate levels of detail per established procedures
- —Support reactor fleet initiatives, emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and refueling outage activities as assigned
- —Obtain Qualified Nuclear Engineering (QNE) certification within 24 months of hire
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear)
- —For Entry level: willingness to obtain QNE certification
- —For Mid-level: 2+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience
- —For Senior: 5+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience
- —Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access or minimum access requirements
- —Pass favorable medical examination per position duties
Desired
- —Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
