Engineer I-Sr (Nuc){Mechanical/Civil}
About this role
Mechanical or Civil Engineer supporting nuclear plant systems at Entergy's Louisiana facilities. This role spans Engineer I through Senior Engineer levels, providing technical expertise for day-to-day plant operations, preventive maintenance optimization, complex troubleshooting, design basis support, and regulatory compliance. You'll work directly with Operations and Maintenance personnel on condition monitoring, corrective actions, and fleet-wide lessons learned implementation.
Responsibilities
- —Provide technical information on program performance requirements, compliance status, and industry operating experience to site Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance personnel
- —Identify potential problems through condition-based monitoring and optimize preventive maintenance through feedback and component reviews
- —Develop, plan, and coordinate special projects, corrective action plans, and improvement programs for component or regulatory issues
- —Support Maintenance and Operations in component troubleshooting and provide expertise for significant events or complex plant problems
- —Support changes to assigned component configuration/design and associated design basis documentation
- —Serve on outage engineering support teams
- —Ensure fleet lessons learned are captured and good practices are implemented
- —Maintain required qualifications and attend necessary training
Qualifications
- —B.S. Degree in Engineering or closely related scientific/physical science discipline, or equivalent work experience at engineer/technical specialist level
- —Engineer I/Technical Specialist I: 0–2 years in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- —Engineer II/Technical Specialist II: 2–3 years in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- —Engineer III/Technical Specialist III: 3–4 years in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- —Sr. Engineer/Technical Specialist IV: 4–5 years in nuclear design, operations, or equivalent
- —Good to excellent communication skills
- —Proficiency in PC use and applications
Desired
- —SRO (Senior Reactor Operator) license or certification on a PWR or BWR
- —Professional Engineering (PE) license
Location
Onsite in St. Francisville, Louisiana; up to 25% travel; available for additional hours and alternate locations during storms, outages, and emergencies.
