Required qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or closely related scientific discipline/physical science associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to perform structural analysis and seismic analysis in accordance with nuclear codes
- Good to excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in PC use and applications
- Experience level: Engineer I (0+ years), Engineer II (2+ years), Engineer III (4+ years), Senior Engineer (6+ years with 5+ years PE), or Senior Lead Engineer (7+ years with 6+ years PE)
About this role
Design Engineering role at Entergy nuclear facility responsible for maintaining design basis documentation, supporting NRC licensing requirements, and delivering cost-effective modification designs for nuclear power plant systems. Position fills Engineer I through Senior Lead level based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain design basis for each site and support licensing basis maintenance
- Provide cost-effective modification designs to improve plant, system, or equipment performance
- Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations
- Support safe, reliable operation by identifying and resolving issues through corrective action and work management processes
- Develop engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures
- Act as design authority for the site
- Serve on outage engineering support teams as necessary
- Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary for required group functions
Preferred qualifications
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Engineering Analysis Software experience
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite in Killona, Louisiana. Up to 25% travel. Available for additional hours and alternate locations during storms, outages, and emergencies as needed.
