Emergency Response Preparedness Coordinator (Mid-level to Senior)
About this role
Maintain and improve Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Response capabilities at Cook Nuclear Plant in accordance with NRC regulatory requirements and license basis specifications. This mid-level to senior role focuses on emergency plan documentation, drill coordination, training delivery, and program improvements through corrective actions and industry benchmarking.
Responsibilities
- —Maintain Cook Plant Emergency Plan and Beyond Design Basis program documents per regulatory and license basis specifications
- —Plan, coordinate, and conduct Emergency Preparedness drills, exercises, and training on emergency response requirements
- —Lead Emergency Preparedness program improvement projects stemming from NRC rulemaking, industry initiatives, and management recommendations
- —Drive program enhancements through participation in corrective action programs, self-assessments, benchmarking, and NRC inspections
- —Maintain Emergency Preparedness facilities and equipment in operational readiness condition
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, Energy Technology, Health Physics, or related technical field; OR Associate's degree plus 2 years relevant experience; OR High School diploma/GED plus 4 years relevant experience. Mid-level: 2 years relevant work experience. Senior: 4 years relevant work experience. Strong technical writing skills required.
Location
Onsite at Cook Nuclear Plant (Buchanan, MI). 5% travel. 12-hour shifts (days and/or nights) during scheduled refueling outages. Sedentary work environment.
