About this role
4-month paid internship in Westinghouse's Electrical Testing Department. Focus on Frequency Domain Spectroscopy (FDS) technology applied to high-voltage generators and rotating machines. Hands-on experience in advanced electrical diagnostics and condition monitoring for nuclear power equipment.
Responsibilities
- —Conduct literature and historical research on FDS application in rotating machines
- —Identify and determine relevant parameters for FDS testing
- —Develop simulations using SPICE/ETAP and execute test protocols
- —Execute FDS tests on generator bars and stator components in the testing facility
- —Develop Excel tools and software for result interpretation and technical documentation
Qualifications
- —Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering (in progress or completed)
- —Interest in electrical testing and high-voltage equipment diagnostics
- —Analytical capability and orientation toward technical research
Desired
- —Knowledge of simulation tools (SPICE, ETAP)
- —Proficiency with Excel
Location
Morning shift, 4-month duration starting September 2026, onsite at Electrical Testing Department facility
