Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent; or 4-year degree in Engineering/Physics/Chemistry/Math/Engineering Technology plus post-graduate engineering degree. Engineer level: 2+ years electrical engineering experience. Senior Engineer level: 5+ years electrical engineering experience. Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles; ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices; knowledge of SAP and Maximo; proven decision-making and strong communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
About this role
Dominion Energy seeks an Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer for procurement engineering support at Millstone Nuclear Station (Waterford, CT). You'll develop technical and quality assurance specifications for nuclear plant electrical and electronic materials/services, create commercial grade dedication plans per EPRI NP-5652 and 10 CFR 21.3, perform failure modal analysis, and oversee vendor quality assurance compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical and quality assurance specifications for nuclear plant materials and services based on plant system design and programmatic requirements
- Develop commercial grade dedication plans for acceptance testing and inspection per EPRI NP-5652 and 10 CFR 21.3
- Perform evaluations of alternate replacement items and failure modal analysis for electrical/electronic commodities, analog/digital systems, I&C equipment, and power generation/distribution equipment
- Serve as Technical Specialist supporting quality assurance audits and vendor facility surveys to ensure compliance with nuclear QA requirements and industry standards
- Exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments; develop solutions and eliminate non-value-added activities
Preferred qualifications
Experience developing Engineering Specifications (Procurement, Design, Installation); design experience with Electrical Power Distribution, commercial grade off-the-shelf products, Electrical System Protection, and Electrical Industrial Control Systems for power stations; familiarity with industrial electrical/mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, piping, motors, generators, circuit breakers, fire protection, cables, motor starters, control devices, HMI); knowledge of Commercial Nuclear Codes, Standards, and Regulations.
Location, schedule, and travel
Waterford, CT; hybrid 3-2 schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days telework); willingness to travel for vendor visits required.
