Required qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; 2+ years electrical assembly or related field experience; ability to interpret and wire to electrical schematics; proficiency with power hand tools (drills, digital multimeters, screwdrivers, wire strippers); experience with wire sizes 18 AWG to 10 AWG; soldering experience for 18 AWG to 14 AWG wire sizes; mechanical aptitude for assembly and fabrication.
About this role
Full-time electrical assembler at Westinghouse's Shoreview, MN facility supporting nuclear energy equipment manufacturing. Perform electrical assembly, wiring, soldering, and equipment operation while collaborating with engineers and quality control teams on nuclear-grade components and systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical assembly work including schematics interpretation, laser engraving, labeling, and wiring of nuclear equipment components
- Operate forklifts for material handling and component logistics
- Use multimeters, soldering guns, and crimping tools for wire connections (18 AWG to 10 AWG)
- Wire electrical circuits and assemble components to electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Communicate with Engineers to discuss design issues and resolve technical challenges
- Identify non-conformances in assembly builds and coordinate with Quality Control teams
Preferred qualifications
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) wiring or programming experience; Motor Control Station or AC/DC motor wiring and troubleshooting; drilling, tapping, or general fabrication experience; technical schooling in electrical theory; panel building experience; electrical conduit bending or threading.
Location, schedule, and travel
100% onsite at Westinghouse Shoreview, MN facility. Hourly rate: $23.40–$27.90 depending on experience and qualifications.
