Director New Product Introduction
About this role
Director of New Product Introduction at Westinghouse leading manufacturing strategy for new nuclear product and process development. Oversee project portfolios spanning commercial, licensing, regulatory, design, supply chain, and manufacturing workstreams. Drive on-time, on-budget delivery of new nuclear products to market while managing cross-functional matrixed teams and ensuring safety, quality, and financial goals are met.
Responsibilities
- —Lead project managers and leaders in delivering new product introduction projects with focus on on-time, quality delivery while meeting safety and financial goals
- —Manage critical path deliverables across commercial, licensing, regulatory, product design, supply chain, SIOP, transportation and manufacturing workstreams
- —Build partnerships and alignment with Fuel Engineering, Product Delivery, Commercial, Supply Chain, Plant, Quality, Supplier and Customer teams on project issues, risks and resolutions
- —Direct improvements to new product introduction practices and systems, including stage-gated processes applying APQP and PPAP best practices
- —Develop and implement processes for risk identification, management, mitigation and change control to keep programs on track
- —Drive standards for project structuring, reporting and tracking based on industry best practices
- —Create dashboards and communication tools conveying project industrialization requests, timelines and status
- —Support manufacturing aspects for customer offer development and collaborate on capital investment identification and business case development
- —Provide global manufacturing functional lead within Flawless Launch process, facilitating progression through project phases
- —Recruit, develop, engage and retain world-class team members
- —Own accountability for Safety, EHS, Delivery, Quality, Cost, Skills Deployment, Employee Engagement and Corrective Action Completion metrics
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
- —Minimum 10 years in operations, engineering, quality, or program management with demonstrated experience in manufacturing process development and optimization
- —Minimum 2 years of experience in nuclear or related energy industry
- —Certified Six-Sigma Black Belt, Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), or PMI certification
