Chef för Kärnavfallshantering
About this role
Lead a team of 8 managing radioactive and nuclear waste handling for Westinghouse's Swedish Fuel Fabrication plant in Västerås. Report to the Director of QEHS Sweden and collaborate with internal customers and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) to ensure nuclear safety compliance and regulatory adherence.
Responsibilities
- —Lead and develop a team of 8 (operators and administrative staff) supporting waste management across the Swedish organisation
- —Ensure nuclear safety compliance for the Fuel Fabrication plant in Sweden
- —Oversee storage, processing, and disposal of factory and process waste materials
- —Collaborate with internal customers and external regulatory bodies, especially the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM)
- —Maintain and develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- —Foster team engagement and individual development within a strong safety culture
Qualifications
- —3+ years of experience in a management role with proven ability to develop team members and promote a strong safety culture
- —1+ years of experience in nuclear industry, waste management, or radiation protection
- —Knowledge of regulations and regulatory requirements (e.g., SSM)
- —Strong collaboration and communication skills
- —Fluent Swedish (spoken and written)
- —Professional-level English (spoken and written)
Desired
- —Relevant academic degree in nuclear engineering, environmental engineering, or similar field
Location
On-site in Västerås (Bränslegatan), Sweden. Activity-based work environment allowing flexible workplace arrangements.
