About this role
Westinghouse seeks an Operational Project Manager to lead project management processes on low-complexity projects or portions of moderate-complexity initiatives within nuclear energy. You'll manage small teams (<10 members), develop project charters and plans, and drive successful delivery across nuclear projects while promoting safety culture and compliance with quality management systems.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion
- —Complete all initiating and planning processes including authoring project charters, management plans, scope, schedule, and cost baselines
- —Manage all project aspects including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders
- —Interpret and communicate project/contract requirements and changes to functional groups following integrated change management processes
- —Coordinate project communications to keep team, customers, and stakeholders informed of status
- —Develop and oversee project records in standard databases and systems for efficient handling of documentation
- —Perform final project quality assessments and report results
- —Identify and communicate lessons learned, risk avoidance strategies, and improvement opportunities
- —Demonstrate knowledge of industry standard tools including Human Performance, Nuclear Safety Culture, and CAPAL Corrective Actions Program
- —Promote safety culture by placing safety as top priority and ensure compliance with Westinghouse Quality Management System
- —Coach and review work of lower-level professionals
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline
- —2–5 years of experience as project manager in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear, or construction
- —Westinghouse Project Manager qualification completed (or must be completed within designated timeframe for external candidates)
Desired
- —Project controls-related certification in scheduling, estimating, earned value, or risk management
