Required qualifications

Level I: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or related field, OR minimum 4 years combined material purchasing, supplier contracting, vendor management, or related supply chain/business experience.

Level II: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years related experience, OR minimum 6+ years material purchasing/contracting/vendor management experience in lieu of degree.

Level III: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years related experience, OR minimum 9+ years material purchasing/contracting/vendor management experience in lieu of degree.

All levels require: proficiency in policy, procedure, process, governance, and external law/regulation interpretation; knowledge of commercial management processes; advanced understanding of How Entergy Buys and Pays (HEBAP) guidelines.

About this role

Central Procurement Specialist (Level I–III) responsible for sourcing materials and goods for Entergy's nuclear and non-nuclear operations. The role manages procurement activities with increasing autonomy and complexity, ensuring cost-effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and adherence to nuclear safety-related supplier qualification standards (QSL). Duties include processing RFQs, issuing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and supporting nuclear Emergency Response Organization (ERO) activities as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety behaviors and monitor suppliers for safety concerns; perform ERO duties as assigned
  • Process Requests for Quotations (RFQ), coordinate with stakeholders to define specifications, material descriptions, schedule, quality, and quantity requirements
  • Identify and evaluate new and current sources of supply, including diverse suppliers, seeking competitive offerings
  • Ensure Nuclear Safety Related suppliers are active and approved on the Quality Supplier List (QSL); verify material has been reviewed by Engineering personnel to meet site and regulatory requirements
  • Create and issue Purchase Orders, track order status, expedite as required, and resolve invoice discrepancies (Over, Short, Damaged, Discrepant)
  • Work with Legal and Tax to ensure PO deviations are within Entergy's legal and risk tolerance; deliver documented savings through competitive bidding and negotiations
  • Act as Central Procurement Group point of contact with stakeholders and suppliers; maintain professional relationships based on ethical business practices and Standards of Conduct

Preferred qualifications

Prior procurement experience in energy industry; Supply Chain Certification (CPSM, APICS, or similar).
