About this role

Central Procurement Specialist I at Entergy supports nuclear and power generation operations by sourcing materials and goods through advanced supply chain and purchasing expertise. You will execute procurement activities autonomously, manage supplier relationships, process RFQs, ensure Nuclear Safety Related (NSR) supplier compliance, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver cost-effective, strategically sourced materials that meet site and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote strong safety behaviors and monitor suppliers to proactively identify safety concerns
  • Process Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accurate specifications, material descriptions, schedule requirements, and quality/quantity requirements
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies for Over, Short, Damaged, or Discrepant issues
  • Identify and evaluate new and current sources of supply, including diverse suppliers, seeking competitive and advantageous offerings
  • Work with Legal and Tax to ensure deviations from standard purchase order language meet Entergy's legal and risk tolerance levels
  • Create, execute, and track Purchase Orders; expedite orders when required
  • Ensure Nuclear Safety Related suppliers are active and approved on the Quality Supplier List (QSL)
  • Ensure requested materials are reviewed by appropriate Engineering personnel to meet site and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver and document cost savings through competitive bidding, negotiations, and cost avoidance
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers based on ethical business practices and Entergy's Supply Chain Policies
  • Act as Central Procurement Group point of contact with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Maintain open communications between suppliers, stakeholders, and Supply Chain teams to ensure prompt, accurate information
  • Perform storm role duties as assigned through Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS) and nuclear Emergency Response Organization (ERO)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or related discipline OR minimum 4 years of combined material purchasing, supplier contracting, vendor management, or related supply chain/business experience
  • Technical working proficiency with Microsoft 365, IBM Maximo, and IBM Maximo MRO Inventory Optimization
  • Advanced understanding and application of Entergy's procurement and payment guidelines
  • Proficient in interpretation and application of policies, procedures, governance, delegations of authority (DOA), and external laws and regulations
  • Knowledge and application of commercial management processes (plan, strategy, source, perform) including supplier diversity and safety metrics
  • Advanced ability to perform buying actions for complex purchase orders with deep understanding of alternate buying channels
  • Deep knowledge of materials purchasing requirements and procedures across nuclear, Power Gen., and enterprise fleet operations

Location

Hybrid (3 days per week in office) based in Hammond, LA; relocation required for candidates outside the area (no relocation assistance provided)
