About this role
Senior staff category management specialist at Entergy supporting nuclear and power generation capital projects. Lead commercial strategy, contract management, and supplier relationships across a portfolio of projects within Entergy's Project Delivery System, managing everything from RFx development and vendor pricing analysis to contract governance and dispute resolution.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure supply chain engagement across Capital Projects, Power Development, and Power Generation organizations
- —Develop commercial strategies and contract plans aligned to project needs; maximize leverage through aggregation and optimize price, terms, performance standards, and service levels
- —Support identification, development, and execution of projects by leading commercial efforts for project planning, sourcing, and supplier relationship management
- —Manage compliance to contract provisions and administer contract change orders in collaboration with project managers
- —Execute contract governance and provide oversight of supplier performance management, including claims and dispute resolution
- —Collaborate with business units to support deployment of capital funds aligned to Entergy's strategies
- —Develop detailed RFx price breakdowns and deconstruct vendor pricing models to support financial analysis and bid comparison
- —Establish and maintain professional supplier relationships based on ethical business practices and Entergy's Supply Chain Policies
- —Utilize key tools, programs, and proactive field visits to assure standards are met and understood
- —Promote strong safety behaviors and perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS)
- —Coach other supply chain personnel in capital projects technical tools
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or related discipline AND minimum 9–12+ years of combined supplier contracting, capital projects, or related supply chain experience; OR minimum 16+ years of supplier contracting, capital projects, or related supply chain experience in lieu of degree
- —Minimum 6+ years of supply chain experience in capital projects contracting and procurement
- —Skillful application of commercial management processes (plan, strategy, source, perform) including supplier diversity and sustainability
- —Skillful application of market intelligence to assess supply market status and evolution
- —Knowledge of Entergy's policies, processes, and their application to contracts
- —Skillful in creating capital project contracting strategies and methodologies (EPC, Fixed Price, T&M) and advising on best strategy
- —Skillful in creating negotiation strategies and leading negotiations for complex capital project contracts
- —Knowledge of business and supply chain operations within Entergy, including how Entergy buys and pays (HEBAP) and experience with supply chain systems
- —Skillful application of project management principles to ensure systematic, thorough completion of assignments
- —Skillful application of commercial skills and financial acumen to capital projects
Desired
- —MBA or other relevant advanced degree
- —Certification from an industry accreditation organization such as ISM or ASCM
Location
Hybrid (3 days/week in office), based in New Orleans, LA; relocation required for candidates outside the area; no relocation assistance provided.
