About this role
Apprenticeship as an Operations Technician with Westinghouse's Steam Generator Business Unit. Work on chemical cleaning of steam generators and liquid effluent treatment at French nuclear power plants, with exposure to international nuclear sites. Hands-on technical role combining mechanical assembly, system commissioning, and maintenance under nuclear safety and radiation protection protocols.
Responsibilities
- —Adhere to and promote nuclear safety, radiation protection, environmental, and quality requirements
- —Install and connect hoses, piping systems, and assemble bolted joints to torque specifications
- —Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment
- —Commission systems and perform operational checks (pump startup, boilers, compressors, valve operation)
- —Transfer and dispense chemical products; manage inventory, packaging, and tool/material security
- —Work at height and handle heavy components in compliance with safety regulations
- —Monitor and inspect installation systems and equipment
- —Write technical procedures, test sheets, and non-conformity reports; record maintenance interventions
- —Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to lessons learned processes
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or completing Bac +2 (BTS, DUT) or Bac +3 (Licence, BUT) program. Training or coursework in Mechanics, Electromechanics, or Nuclear studies required. Strong organizational and analytical skills with methodical approach to work. Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
Desired
Ongoing training in Nuclear Safety (SCN), Radiation Protection (RP), or Quality/Safety (CSQ). Willingness to travel full-time to different nuclear sites in France and internationally.
Location
Based at home location but requires full-time travel to various French nuclear power plants and potential international Westinghouse sites. Work at height and heavy equipment handling required.
