AOV Analyst
About this role
Short-term contract role (4–6 weeks) performing hands-on analysis, testing, and maintenance of Air-Operated Valves (AOV) in nuclear facilities. Requires 3+ years of diagnostic testing and AOV maintenance experience in nuclear plants, U.S. Navy nuclear background or equivalent reactor training, and 100% travel commitment.
Responsibilities
- —Perform diagnostic analysis and troubleshooting of AOV systems during functional post-maintenance testing, corrective/preventative maintenance, and repair activities
- —Conduct field support for all AOV maintenance work, including diagnostic testing per customer specifications
- —Analyze diagnostic test results and recommend appropriate repairs to maintain first-time quality
- —Complete mechanical safety clearance verification per procedures and ensure all work meets customer/contractor procedural parameters
- —Document all repair, testing, and assembly activities thoroughly in work orders
- —Apply human performance tools (2-minute rule, ALARA) and prioritize personal safety, co-worker safety, and plant equipment protection
- —Work overtime including shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years hands-on experience in diagnostic testing and AOV/actuator valve maintenance in nuclear industry; mechanical and electrical competency with ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation; U.S. Navy nuclear background or equivalent training in reactor maintenance/operations; proficiency with basic hand tools, electrical instruments, and diagnostic tools; knowledge of OSHA and client electrical/mechanical safety requirements; pass all pre-employment screening (practical/written skills assessments, medical, psychological, background, substance abuse).
Desired
Vocational or technical training; EPRI qualifications; satisfactory performance rating from previous nuclear work.
Location
100% travel; 4–6 week contract; 40–72 hours per week; on-site at nuclear facilities
