Responsibilities

• —for this position include but are not limited to thefollowing:Perform general reconditioning and repairing work requiring a moderate degreeof skill on equipment such as: air break and dis connect switches, distributiontransformers, small motors and related substation and line equipment.Test equipment mechanically and electrically; use a low potential test set.Assemble simple electrical apparatus and mount in position, as directed.Erect pipe and angle switchboard frames, mount switchboard panels, unpackand mount switchboard instruments and devices.
• —Perform machine shop and welding

Duties

• —of moderate complexity.
• —Operate power hand tools, bench grinder, drill press, power hacksaw and pipethreading machine.Inspect and clean protective materials and prepare them for testing and assist insuch testing, and prepare test records, all as assigned.
• —Perform oxyacetylene cutting and simple welding.Paint equipment by the use of brush, spray and flow-coat methods.
• —Operate and maintain oil reclaiming equipment, treat oil, as directed, pump oilto and from tanks and equipment, and make proper records and disposition ofmaterial.
• —Conduct electrical tests of insulating oils to determine presence of moisture,carbon or foreign materials.
• —Operate traveling cranes rated at not to exceed ten tons capacity.
• —Maintain work equipment and area in a clean, orderly condition, continuouslyobserve company's safety rules and practices, check condition of safetyequipment, attend scheduled safety meetings, participate in artificial respirationpractice as required and become familiar with safety manuals, rules and specialprocedures prescribed by the company.
